A friend at the barn sent me this link. Her Rocky Mountain horse is jet black, so you can see we have a soft spot for black horses. ;-) Hope you enjoy watching these stunning Friesians in action. Wow.
Just beautiful! That's some knee action. Wonder what it feels like to ride that? Love their manes too. They are just beaytiful horses. I love black horses too and have always wanted one.
Your new header picture is stunning! Have a great weekend too.
OMG!!! You have made my weekend -- Friesians are my absolute DREAM horses!! Had to have a tissue handy, just in case I started drooling big-time *lol* I'm forever searching out 'Friesians' on youtube but hadn't come across that one, Thank you so much! Especially love the footage of the one galloping in the field, wish my hair looked as good as his mane ;o) And how gorgeous is Gem looking in your new header! Enjoy your weekend :D xx
Geez, I would kill for hair like that Friesian galloping across the field! LOL! I wonder how they get their manes so straight and full.... I will pass on your compliments to Gem. xo
I've always thought Friesians are almost like mythical animals- they have so much romance! I've been thinking about going to take a jumping lesson on one, I've only ridden Friesians in dressage. There is another blog floating around out there called "the foxhunting friesian," so it goes to show they are versatile!
Romance is a good description! Shannon over at It's Quarters for Me has ridden one in lesson. Lucky lady! I am going to check out the Foxhunting Friesian - thanks!
they're gorgeous! i've always been partial to black horses myself, and these guys are just stunning. thanks for posting this. kind of made my morning :-)

There's something sort of mysterious about black horses, don't you think? I will tell Gem you think his picture is stunning. :-)
DeleteWhoops spelled beautiful wrong, that's what I get for working without glasses on an iPad .
ReplyDeleteThey are truly magnificent, aren't they? The Friesians with really high knee action are carriage horses, they are very uncomfortable to ride!
ReplyDeleteGem looks fabulous in your new header!
oh WOW!! They are so gorgeous and amazing!!!

DeleteThat was beautiful! Such beautiful horses. Is it natural for them to step that way? It appears so.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure about the high knee action. I would suspect that they have some naturally and then are trained to emphasis it. They are beautiful....
